The Best Things In Life Are Free
While every time of year is beautiful at our winery, there is something particularly special about Autumn at Chumettte. There is no doubt that we have robust amenities (Villas, Pool, Spa, Tasting Room, etc.) but one of the best things we provide for our guests are the breath taking views that you can’t find anywhere else. Lets face it, nothing beats the changing leaves and crisp Autumn air at Chaumette.
If you haven’t had a chance to take a stroll through our property this season, we strongly encourage it! Maybe start by taking a hike up to the barn. Opened in May, 2012, our barn is rustic yet elegant, we like to call it “Country Class”. While the barn itself is quite stunning, the view you get of the lake, vineyard and tasting room while standing on the front porch certainly gives it a run for its money.
Next, travel down the road through the woods to our all faith’s Chapel, St. Vincent’s-in-the-Vineyard. It’s a short little walk, but of all of the places on the property to take in the dazzling colors of the changing leaves, there might not be a better place. Once you get to the Chapel, you’ll understand why countless brides have chosen this particular spot to say their “I do’s” to the love of their life. Like the barn, it is hard to tell what is more beautiful, the Chapel itself, or the view from the front porch.
Once you’re finished at the Chapel, a stroll through the vineyard is a must! After all, this is a winery, right? It’s just a short walk down the road, across our charming little bridge. We have several different types of grapes and, if you’re lucky, you may even get to witness some of the harvesting process! Each patch of vines is labeled with a sign letting you know what type of wine will be made with that particular patch of grapes. We recommend taking a walk through the Traminette Vineyard on over to the Cedar Grove. The Cedar Grove is a shady little area behind the Traminette with a beautiful view of another one of the 4 lakes on the property. This is a very popular wedding sight as well.
A visit to Chaumette isn’t complete without taking in the views from our villas and pool deck. The view from the porch of the villas is truly spectacular. Villa 31, for instance, overlooks the vineyard and another one of the lakes on the property. What a beautiful scene it is! Our pool is open nearly year round, which is a great reason to getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life and come visit the winery. Even if you don’t want to take a dip in the pool, it’s always nice to kick your shoes off poolside and enjoy a nice glass of wine along with the view and the sounds of the rippling pool water.
These are just a few of our favorite places to enjoy the stunning scenery Chaumette has to offer. There are many other beautiful spots to take in the crisp Autumn air on the property. Come see for yourself and tell us about your favorite spot at Chaumette on our Twitter and Instagram pages @chaumettewinery using the hashtag #ChaumetteGetaway. Not familiar with the property? Don’t sweat it! Ask for a map of the property on your next visit to our tasting room.
